About Trakz

Background:

Inspired by the Edinburgh Fringe and New Zealand’s World Buskers Festival in Christchurch, Trakz Festival aims to bring the community, businesses and railway together for a fun, family event through the medium of the arts.

The first Trakz Festival took place on Saturday, 18th April 2015. Buskers in the form of musicians, actors, dancers, and circus entertainers provided a wealth of colour and entertainment throughout the day on allocated sites along the length of Llandudno Junction's high street. A free circus workshop took place at the Memorial Hall along with other family friendly activities such as bouncy castles and dance workshops. Trakz, keen to celebrate diversity and make sure there was something for everyone to enjoy, also provided a Craft fair and Car Boot sale.

Trakz started off as the 2014-2015 Mayor's project to raise money for her charities Aberconwy Domestic Abuse Service and Hope Restored, a charity helping the homeless whilst also providing something for the community. The success of the first Trakz festival is down to all the committee members, volunteers, performers, businesses and financial supporters who helped make it possible.

Trakz 2016:

The Trakz team are working hard to bring back this amazing festival to Llandudno Junction. This year, Trakz will be supporting the current Mayor's (Emma Leighton-Jones) charities which are First Conwy Scouts and Clwb Er Efrail, a charity providing activities for the elderly. Trakz will also be supporting the Llandudno Junction based charity, Aberconwy Domestic Abuse Service.
